With over 300 million daily active users, Instagram Stories is hands-down one of the most popular features of Instagram. Instagram has clearly noticed the popularity of Stories and wants to increase its reach even further. You could already watch Stories on the web version of the app on the desktop and mobile browsers. Now, Instagram is also allowing you to upload Stories from Instagram’s mobile website.

Here’s How It Works

Step 1. Visit the Instagram homepage using the default web browser on your phone. Step 2. You will now see a new camera icon at the top left corner. Step 3. Tap it on to generate the options to snap a new photo or use an existing one from your camera roll. Step 4. After selecting the photo, you can overlay some text on it in different colors. Unfortunately, you cannot dazzle your Stories with stickers at the moment. Step 5. You can upload the post by tapping on Add to your story at the bottom. Instagram Stories can also be saved on your device. Once you have uploaded the Story, you can check who has seen it in the same way you do on the app. The website will also let you access all of your saved posts if you tap the bookmark icon at the top right corner of the page.

Things You Can’t Do

At present, Instagram’s mobile website will only let you add a photo as a Story. Videos and all the other creative tools for Stories, including Boomerang, SuperZoom, Polls, location tags, face filters, stickers are not available as of now. It’d be great if Instagram brings these tools to mobile web as well. Let’s see what future has to offer.
